Tigers Lose Close One At Furman, 4-3

In a match that featured five tiebreaks in singles, Furman defeated Princeton 4-3 on Saturday at the Mickel Tennis Center thanks to a pair of three-set victories at the Nos. 1 and 4 spots.
Princeton (4-3), which lost the doubles point, led both at No. 1 and No. 4 by winning the first set, but Furman's Andy Juc came back to defeat Peter Capkovic at No. 1 and the Paladins' Chris Motes also came back in his match against Princeton's Charlie Brosens at No. 4.
The Tigers won in straight sets at both No. 2 and No. 4. Alex Krueger-Wyman won a pair of tiebreaks to put away Bo Ladyman at No. 2, while Ryan Kim got two service breaks to close out Jordan Walters 6-4 and 6-4.
Princeton did get a nice three-set win at No. 3 from George Carpeni, who won in a third-set tiebreak against Daniel Knause.
The Tigers play at Georgia State Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. Princeton defeated 42nd-ranked Clemson Friday in their first match on a weekend trip to the Southeast.
