Men's Tennis Rolls Past Loyola Marymount, 6-1, For Second Straight Win

Princeton got a pair of straight-set singles wins that featured tiebreaks and dominated the doubles on the way to a 6-1 win over Loyola Marymount in a men's tennis match played at the LMU Tennis Center Thursday.
Both Ryan Kim, at No. 4, and Ilya Trubov, at No. 6, won matches that featured tiebeaks to put the 64th-ranked Tigers in control. Kim earned a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Renzo Maggi, while Trubov defeated Aris Andreasian by scores of 6-3 and 7-6.
The Tigers (8-4) clinched the match at No. 1 singles, where Peter Capkovic went to a third set with Jacek Twarowski and defeated Twarowski 7-5 in that decisive set.
Princeton lost just eight total games in three doubles victories. The most impressive victory came at No. 3 doubles, where Mark Gober and Alex Faust won by an 8-1 score over Nick Von der Ahe and Sam Tadevosian.
Loyola Marymount fell to 7-7 on the season with the loss.
The Tigers play at 15th-ranked Pepperdine Friday at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time to conclude their Spring Break trip to Southern California.
