Men's Tennis Falls At Dartmouth, 5-2
April 11, 2008 | Men's Tennis
The Princeton men's tennis team fell to 1-3 in the Ivy League with a 5-2 defeat at Dartmouth Friday afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center. For the second straight match, the Tigers played without No. 2 singles player and No. 1 doubles player Alex Krueger-Wyman due to injury.
The Big Green won all three doubles matches and won three singles matches in straight sets, clinching the match when Mark Brodie defeated Peter Capkovic 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Capkovic did not play doubles on Friday after being forced to retire in his singles match against Yale last weekend due to injury.
Princeton's wins came at Nos. 2 and 4 singles, where George Carpeni and Ryan Kim each won 10-point prosets after splitting sets with their opponents. Carpeni beat Dan Freeman at No. 2, while Kim beat Jeff Schectman at No. 4.
Alex Vuckovic, who has also dealt with injury this year, was in a third set at No. 3 singles with Justin Tzou before being forced to retire.
The Tigers, 9-8 overall, play at Harvard Saturday afternoon.
