Women Second, Men Fifth Two Rounds into Ivy League Golf Championships

Susannah Aboff carries a five shot lead on the women's individual leaderboard as the Princeton golf teams have one round to play at their respective Ivy League Championships outside Atlantic City.
Aboff, a junior, shot a 65 and 70 in her first two rounds at Atlantic City Country Club Saturday to lead Harvard's Emily Balmert with 18 holes left. Aboff's 9-under score paces a Princeton team that is 10 shots behind Harvard on the team leaderboard. Columbia is just one shot behind the Princeton women as Penn, Yale, Dartmouth and Brown round out the seven-team field.
Avery Kiser was Princeton's last individual women's champion in 2004 and the women's team last won the Ivy title in 2005. The men's team is chasing is first title since 2006.
Individually, Michelle Grilli is tied for eighth at +8 after a 78 and 74, while Kate Scarpetta is tied for 10th at +9 with her 78 and 75. Marlowe Boukis is tied for 14th at +11 with a 78 and 11, and Maggie Boberg is tied for 17th at +12 with her 79 and 77.
On the men's side, at Galloway National Golf Club, Princeton stands fifth in the eight-team field. Yale holds a one-shot lead over Columbia with Penn and Harvard in front of the Tigers, 19 shots off the pace. Max Schechter is tied for eighth at +8 with a pair of 75s, while Evan Harmeling is tied for 12th at +9 after a 74 and 77. Juan Pablo Candela is tied for 18th at +11 with his 74 and 79, with Andrew Maliniak (31st, +18, 82-78) and Greg Stamas (T33, +20, 83-79) completing Princeton's contingent.
