Baseball Visits Yale and Brown for Ivy Doubleheaders

The Princeton baseball team returns to Ivy League action this weekend with doubleheaders at Yale and Brown. Princeton went 2-2 in its opening weekend of league play last weekend, sweeping Harvard a day after being swept by Dartmouth.
Princeton now sits at 10-12 overall after a 2-3 week. The Tigers dropped both ends of their doubleheader with Dartmouth by scores of 5-4 and 8-5. Princeton rebounded a day later with two one-run wins over Harvard by scores of 3-2 and 6-5. Princeton then dropped a midweek contest at Monmouth on Tuesday afternoon by an 11-8 score.
Princeton now sits at 2-2 in Ivy League play, one game behind Columbia in the Gehrig Division standings as Columbia took three of the four it played last weekend against Brown and Yale. Penn is currently a half game behind the Tigers at 1-2-1 as its second game with Yale was postponed after nine innings tied at nine because of darkness. The game will be finished if it is needed later in the season. Cornell is 0-2 as its doubleheader with Harvard was never played. On the Rolfe side, Dartmouth is 4-0, Yale is 2-1-1, Brown is 1-3 and Harvard is 0-2.
Senior Spencer Lucian continues to lead the Tigers at the player with a .462 batting average and 36 hits in 78 at bats. He also has a .532 on-base percentage, which leads the team. Junior Jack Murphy leads the Tigers with five home runs and 123 RBIs and his .381 average is second highest on the squad. Junior Adrian Turnham and sophomore David Hale at .325 and .302 respectively give the Tigers four batters hitting over .300 this season.
Last weekend on the mound, Princeton for solid starting performances from Hale and senior Steven Miller in Sunday's sweep of Harvard. Hale allowed two runs on seven this in a complete game while striking out nine, while Miller allowed three earned runs on seven hits and struck out seven in another complete game win.
