Princeton Breaks Ground On FieldTurf Practice Facilities
October 22, 2009 | Football
Director of Athletics Gary Walters and head football coach Roger Hughes recently broke ground on the Finney/Campbell practice fields, which will receive a FieldTurf makeover in time for the spring of 2010. This was made possible through a generous gift from former All-Ivy punter William C. Powers '79.
The facility, which will support both the football team and other Princeton squads, will include two football fields, each with lines for either men's or women's lacrosse. The overall facility size will be 400 feet long by 392 feet wide and will use FieldTurf Duraspine, the same surface as Plummer Field (the practice field at Roberts Stadium). The facility is vertically drained and is capable of holding approximately 900,000 gallons of water.
The anticipated completion date is Dec. 31, 2009.
