Women's Basketball Selected Third in Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/28/09) - The Princeton women's basketball team was selected to finish third in the 2009 Ivy League Preseason Media/SID Poll, that was released by the league office on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
The poll is voted on by each institution's sports information contact as well as one media representative.
The defending Ivy League champion Dartmouth was picked to repeat with 123 points and 11 first-place votes. Harvard received five first-place votes and 115 points. Princeton followed with 86 points, three points ahead of Columbia. Cornell and Yale received 57 points apiece to tie for fifth place, with Penn receiving 36 and Brown 19 to round out the poll.
Princeton finished the 2008-09 season 14-14 overall and took third in the Ivy League with a 9-5 mark.
The Tigers open the season on Friday, Nov. 13 at Stony Brook, with the home opener three days later against American on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
