The series: Princeton is 6-0 all-time against the Eagles with all meetings coming between 2000 and 2008. The Tigers picked up wins in 2000, '01, '03, '04, '06 and '08. This will be American's first visit to Princeton since 2004.
Last meeting: Sarah Peteraf had two goals and Barb Previ and Lauren Whatley had one each as the Tigers defeated American 4-0 last Oct. 7 in Washington. The game was the fifth in a seven-game shutout streak for goalkeeper Alyssa Pont and the Princeton defense.
Youth movement: With Caitlin Blosser scoring her first career goal and Stephanie Iantorno providing an assist, freshmen have had 14 of the 26 points Princeton has scored this season, including four of the nine goals.
OT: The loss at Dartmouth was Princeton's first OT loss since Nov. 3, 2007, when Penn silenced Princeton's postseason hopes with an extra-time goal in Philadelphia. The last time before Saturday that Princeton lost in double-OT was on the Notre Dame campus against Washington State earlier in the 2007 season.
Common foes: Princeton and American have only one common opponent this season, and neither team has played that opponent yet. Princeton will travel to Lehigh on Oct. 14, and American will do the same on Oct. 25.
On American: The Eagles have won two straight games by a combined score of 6-1 over Delaware State and Bucknell to move back to .500 on the season and end a four-match losing streak. Kelsey Brasher has had five of the team's 13 goals, while Arianna Efstathiou (1.03 GAA, .800 sv%) has had almost all the minutes in net.
The locals: Princeton has four Washington-area natives, including senior Vicki Anagnostopoulos from the Maryland side and sophomore Alyssa Pont and freshmen Diane Metcalf-Leggette and Alison Nabatoff from the Virginia side. American has nine New Jerseyans, including two from close by Princeton with Kelly McLaughlin from West Windsor and Allison Slattery from Belle Mead.
