PRINCETON, N.J. (11/24/09) - The Princeton women's basketball team makes its first cross country trip of the season, as it heads to California for a pair of games. First up for the Tigers is UCLA, on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Tip off is set for 7 p.m., local time, at Pauley Pavilion.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Princeton is off to a 3-0 start this season, the program's best start in 14 years, with wins over Stony Brook, American and Delaware. The Tigers are led by freshman Niveen Rasheed who is averaging 16.7 points per game. Her 50 points is the most points scored by any player in the Ivy League. She is also chipping in a team-high seven rebounds per game and has added a team-best 10 assists and four steals. Junior Addie Micir is scoring at a rate of 15.3 points per game, shooting an incredible 12 for 23 from long rage for 52.5 percent. She also leads the team in steals with five. Sophomores Lauren Edwards and Devona Allgood are averaging 12 and eight points per game. Allgood is contributing seven boards per game and a team-high four blocks, while Edwards as four steals and three blocks. As a team, the Tigers are shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, and have added 21 of 47 three-pointers for 44.7 percent. The team has hit 28 of its 41 free throws for 68.3 percent.
UCLA is 3-1 on the season, winning its last three games. The team's lone loss was to Illinois State in the season opener on Nov. 14. The Bruins have since beaten Santa Clara, Hawaii and Utah. Erica Tukianinen is the team's leading scorer with 15.5 points per game. She shoots a high percentage from the three-point line, a clip of 72.7 percent. Markel Walker is averaging 11 points per game and leads the team under the glass, pulling down 9.3 rebounds per game, and has a team-high 13 steals and 13 assists. Darxia Morris is the other Bruin that averages double figures in points per game, at 10.5, and also has 13 assists. As a team, the Bruins are hitting 43 percent of its shots (107-249), and is 71.1 percent from the charity strip.
The Tigers will take a day off to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and will return to the hardwoods on Friday, Nov. 27 with a game at UC-Irvine at 2 p.m., local time.
