Women's Hoops Plays First of Two Straight Home Games Against Lehigh Wednesday

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/1/09) - The Princeton women's basketball team will play three of its next four games at home, starting with Lehigh on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
The game will be webstreamed live on GoPrincetonTigers.tv. Live play-by-play will be called by Ed Benkin and live stats will also be available, free of charge.
Princeton holds a 13-9 advantage in the all-time series with Lehigh. The series began in November 1983, with Princeton winning the first game, 75-70. The Tigers have won three of the last five meetings, but fell 63-43 last season in Bethlehem.
Princeton is 4-1 overall after splitting a pair of games in California last week. The Tigers lost a 69-59 game at UCLA, after leading for 25 minutes and followed up with a 78-50 win over UC Irvine. Freshman Niveen Rasheed is averaging team-bests 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. She also has 11 assists, six steals and three blocks. Junior Addie Micir is contributing 13.4 points per game and is shooting 45.9 percent from long range, dropping in 17 three pointers. Sophomore Lauren Edwards adds 12.6 points per game and leads the team with seven steals. Sophomore Devona Allgood is second on the team in rebounds with 6.0 per game while adding 8.8 points per game. As a team, the Tigers are shooting 44.7 percent from the floor, and have added 32 of 87 three-pointers for 36.8 percent. The team has hit 48 of its 67 free throws for 71.6 percent. The Tigers have a +16.8 scoring margin and a +0.2 rebounding margin over their opponents.
Lehigh is off to a 5-1 start with wins over Lipscomb, FDU, St. Francis, Binghamton and La Salle. Its lone loss was at No. 20 Vanderbilt in early November. Erica Prosser leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game. Alex Ross is backing her up with 11.0 points per game. Both are hot from long range, hitting 17 and 14 three pointers. Tricia Smith and Courtney Dentler are the team's top two rebounders, picking up 5.8 and 5.2 boards per game, respectively. Prosser and Smith each have 19 assists, while Alexa Williams leads the team in steals with 18. The team is shooting a clip of 42.1 percent (143-340), is 30.9 percent (43-139) from three-point range and 66.2 percent (86-130) from the charity stripe. The Mountain Hawks have a +8 scoring margin and +1 rebounding margin.
