Princeton's Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day Set for March 7

PRINCETON, N.J. (2/25/09) ? The Princeton University Department of Athletics will holds its 10th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, March 7.
The event will feature a sports clinic prior to the women's basketball game versus Cornell. The clinic, which starts at 4:30 p.m., will offer participants the chance to learn the fundamentals of a variety of sports from Princeton student-athletes and coaches. Tip-off for the Princeton/Cornell game is at 6 p.m.
Following the game, the women's basketball team will hold a “Meet the Tigers” autograph session. Admission to the sports fair and basketball game is $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 14. The doors will open at 4 p.m.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day was chartered by Congress in 1986 to honor female athletic achievement and recognize the importance of women's sports and fitness participation.
Princeton's celebration of the event, one of hundreds at schools across the country, is presented by Tyco International, the Bank of Princeton and the Princeton Packet.
