Mixed Results for Fencing Teams at First Day of Ivy Championships

NEW YORK -- Princeton's fencing teams split their decisions on the first day of the Ivy League round-robins that will decide the conference champion.
The men beat Harvard 17-10 but lost to Penn by the same score to stand at 1-1 with three matches to come at the second day of competition in two weeks. The women went 2-1 with wins over Penn 15-12 and Cornell 16-11 and a 14-13 loss to Harvard.
Princeton's place in the Ivy League standings heading into the second and final day of competition, which will take place Feb. 22 at Brown, will be announced when all the results are posted. Here are Princeton's individual results:
Men's: Princeton 17, Harvard 10
