Three Named to All-Ivy Women's Basketball Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/12/09) ? Three members of the Princeton women's basketball team have been named All-Ivy League it was announced by the league office on Thursday, March 12.
Sophomore guard Addie Micir was named to the second team, while center Devona Allgood and guard Lauren Edwards were named to the all-rookie team.
Micir finished the 2008-09 season as the Tigers' leading scorer, averaging 11.8 points per game, scoring 331 total points, ranking ninth in the league. She brought down 4.2 rebound per game while adding 57 assists, 22 steals and 14 blocks. Micir was one of the top free throw and three point shooters on the team. She led the league in three's made with 66, shooting 36.7 percent from behind the arc, and shot 43-for-51 from the free throw line for 84.3 percent.
Allgood and Edwards combined for six Rookie of the Week awards, earning a third of the honors that were handed out this season.
Edwards led the rookies in scoring, finishing third on the team, with 9.6 points per game, the second-best average for a freshman in the league. The second-leading rebounder on the team, with 4.3 caroms per game, Edwards also chipped in 34 assists, 47 assists and 18 blocks.
Allgood led the Tigers in rebounding, blocks and field goal percentage. She ranks second in the league in field goal percentage at 52.7 percent, going 98-for-186. Allgood ranks third among Ivy Leaguers in blocks with 44, averaging 1.6 each contest, and ranks seventh in the league in rebounds with 6.9 boards per game.
Princeton finished its season 14-14 overall and 9-5 in the Ivy League. Predicted to finish seventh, the Tigers closed out the season in third place.
