Women's Basketball Finishes Schedule at Penn

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/9/09) ? The Princeton women's basketball team will close out the regular season on Tuesday, March 10 at Penn. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m., the men's teams playing afterwards at 8 p.m.

Princeton leads the all-time series that began in 1974, 42-23, and won a 64-49 game exactly two months ago on January 10 at Jadwin Gym.
Princeton is 13-14 overall and 8-5 in the Ivy League entering the final contest. The Tigers are third in the league standings and are on a four-game winning streak. Sophomore Addie Micir leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. She is also chipping in 54 assists, 22 steals and 14 blocks. Freshman Lauren Edwards and senior Whitney Downs are contributing 9.6 and 9.2 points per game, respectively, and are the team's top two steals leaders. Freshman Devona Allgood leads the team under the basket with 6.9 rebounds per game, while adding 7.9 points per game and 43 blocks total.
Penn is 9-18 overall and 6-7 in the Ivy League. The Quakers have won their last three games including a weekend sweep last weekend. Carrie Biemer paces the offense with 18 points per game, while chipping in 5.3 rebounds per game. Kelly Scott is averaging 10.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Erin Power leads the team in assists with 82, blocks with 20 and steals with 31. Power is also the team's leading rebounder with 5.9 caroms per game, while Caitlin Slover is second in line with 4.1 per game.
