Eric Salazar Honored with Place on All-Ivy Men's Golf Team
April 29, 2009 | Men's Golf
PRINCETON -- Princeton sophomore golfer Eric Salazar, who finished tied for first at the Ivy League Championships last weekend, has been recognized by the league with a place on its seven-member all-conference team.
Salazar was all square with soon-to-be Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year Pete Williamson from Dartmouth after 54 holes before Williamson claimed the Ivy medal on the third playoff hole. It was the highest finish for a Tiger men's golfer since 2005, when Creighton Page '05 won the individual title.
The All-Ivy recognition marks a return to the list for Princeton, which last placed a golfer on the All-Ivy team with John Sawin '07 in 2007.
Salazar's finish as first among the Princeton contingent was only his second top-Tiger placement of the season after also leading Princeton at the home invitational one tournament before the Ivy meet.
