Dilday, Edmunds Given Water Polo Year End Awards
May 13, 2009 | Men's Water Polo, Women's Water Polo
Princeton water polo coach Luis Nicolao recently announced the winners of the men's and women's year-end awards and the captains for both teams for the 2009 men's and the 2010 seasons.
Senior Alex Edmunds was named the recipient of the Scott A.C. Roche '94 Memorial Award. The Roche Award is presented annually, by election of the team, to the senior player who, like Scott, led with energy and determination, intense competitive spirit and a contagious love of the game.
Classmate Liz Dilday was the recipient of the Women's Water Polo Tiger Award, which is awarded annually, by election of the team, to the individual who contributed the most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the Princeton University women's water polo team.
The captains were also named for both squads. Current juniors Gregor Horstmeyer, Eric Vreeland and Douglas Wigley will lead the 2009 men's team, while juniors Carolina Ardila, Phoebe Champion and Helen Meigs will hold these roles with the 2010 women's squad.
