Men's Golf Ties for Eighth in Rhode Island

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. -- Princeton tied for eighth at the 16-team Classic at Shelter Harbor, the Tigers' last fall tournament and an event that included all eight Ivy League programs.
Columbia was the event's champion at 20-over, nine shots in front of Harvard. Individually, Hartford's Matt Smith defeated Dartmouth's James Pleat in a playoff after both players finished the two-round event at 1-over. Sophomore Bernie D'Amato was the top Tiger at 6-over.
