Women's Tennis Advances Through Doubles at ITA

HANOVER, N.H. -- The four Tigers competing in the main doubles draw ITA Northeast Regional at Dartmouth have found early success on Saturday's first day of play.
Taylor Marable and Hilary Bartlett defeated Daniela DePaoli and Stephanie Do of Penn 8-4 in the Round of 64, and swept Kristen Chen and Linnea Enoh-Janssen of St. Peter's 8-0 to advance to the Round of 16 Sunday. There they will face Jessica Harrow and Misia Krasowski of Brown at 8 a.m.
Monica Chow and Rachel Saiontz defeated Christine Ordway and Ryan Young of Cornell 8-3 in the first round and then felled Lauren Bates and Emma Leibowicz of Binghamton, 8-1. Those two Tigers will face Vicky Brook and Lindsay Clark of Yale in the Round of 16 Sunday at 8:45 a.m.
Marable, Bartlett, Chow and Saiontz all received first-round main-draw singles byes and will get underway Sunday. Bartlett, the No. 1 seed, will face Alexa Ely of Penn at 9:15 a.m. Marable, a No. 17 seed, will get underway with Monica Yajima of Fairfield at 11:15 a.m. Saiontz, the No. 11 seed, will face Vivin Laszloffy of Boston University at noon, and Monica Chow will face Cornell's Young at 2 p.m.
Katherine Flanigan, who played into the main draw with two qualifying singles wins, fell to Melissa Matsuoka of Dartmouth, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the first round Saturday night.
