Women's Basketball Selected to Repeat as Ivy League Champion

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/27/10) - The Princeton women's basketball team was selected to repeat as the Ivy League champion as the Ivy League office released the 2010 Ivy League Preseason Media/SID Poll on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Princeton earned 16 of the 17 first-place votes in the poll and 135 points total. Harvard is predicted to finish second with 115 points and received one first-place vote. Dartmouth received 96 points for third place, followed by Yale with 84, Columbia with 73 and Brown with 50. Cornell and Penn round out the poll with 39 and 19 points, respectively.
The poll is voted on by each institution's sports information contact as well as one media representative. Last year Princeton was picked to take third in the preseason poll and finished going 14-0 against the Ancient Eight.
The Tigers open the season on Saturday, Nov. 13 when they host Fairleigh Dickinson at 4 p.m.
