Nov. 11 TigerCast: Courtney Banghart and Matt Zimmerman
November 11, 2010 | Football, General, Women's Basketball
Women's basketball head coach Courtney Banghart and football co-captain Matt Zimmerman are the guests for the latest edition of TigerCast.
Banghart led Princeton to its best season in program history last year, going 26-3 and winning each Ivy League game by at least 10 points. The Tigers earned an Ivy League best 11th seed in the NCAA Championships and will be looking for even greater heights this season, which opens Saturday afternoon at Jadwin Gym against Fairleigh Dickinson. Banghart talks about the challenges of defending the Ivy League title, the exciting influx of talent from the Class of 2014 and her expectation for the banner raising ceremony, which will precede Saturday's season opener.
Zimmerman is a three-year starter on the Princeton football team and has the longest active starting streak of any Princeton football player (21 games). A co-captain, he will be one of the prime offensive weapons as Princeton heads to New Haven for the 133rd meeting with Yale. He was a key contributor in last year's 24-17 home win over the Bulldogs, scoring a 30-yard touchdown to help put the game away. Zimmerman talks about the rivalry, what he hopes to accomplish with the rest of the season and his success both on and off the field.
