After competing with a pair of strong scholarship programs to open the 2010-11 swimming and diving season, Princeton will open its defense of both Ivy League championships this weekend when it heads to Cornell for a tri-meet with Penn. Links for live stats can be found above.
Both Princeton programs went undefeated in league competition last season, including impressive sweeps in this meet at DeNunzio Pool. The men defeated Cornell 191-104 and Penn 193-102, while the women defeated Penn 160.5-128.5 and Cornell 167-122.
Junior Aislinn Smalling swept both the 500 and 1000 in last year's women's victory, while senior co-captain Ming Ong won the 200 back. For the men, junior Jon Christensen won three events against Cornell and Penn; Christensen was the Princeton men's lone winner during last weekend's UVA Fall Invitational, while senior Megan Waters and freshman Andrea Kropp were both individual winners for the women.
Following the weekend meet, Princeton will be off for Thanksgiving break and then will make their DeNunzio Pool debut at the Big Al Open (Dec. 3-5). Other teams competing this season will be Columbia, Florida, Brown, Washington State and Rider.
