Micir Nabs Ivy League Player of the Week Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/29/10) - Senior co-captain Addie Micir was named the Ivy League co-Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 29.
Princeton went 1-1 at the Vanderbilt Tournament, stunning the University of Southern California on Friday to advance to the championship game against No. 22/24 Vanderbilt on Sunday.
Micir scored both free throws with 5.0 seconds left to lift Princeton the 60-59 win over USC, the program's first win over a Pac-10 team. She finished the game with 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal against the Trojans, a team receiving votes in both national polls.
The Commodores, who are unbeaten in their 12-year history of their Thanksgiving Tournament, is the first ranked opponent Princeton has played this season. The Tigers nearly defeated the Commodores, falling 74-68, after battling back from a 10-point deficit to take the lead in the second half. With 40 seconds to play Princeton has down by just three. Micir led the team in scoring with a season-high 20 points. She shot 6-for-13 from long range, matching her career best of six three-pointers in the game, but this time all six game in a single half. Micir added three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.
Micir was named to the five-member All-Tournament team for the her efforts this weekend.
