Women's Basketball Receives Vote in Preseason National Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/3/10) - The Princeton women's basketball team is receiving a vote in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' preseason poll it was announced on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
The Tigers earned votes in the poll last season, when the squad went 26-3 overall and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. The team had four votes in the final poll last season.
The reigning six-time national champion Connecticut was picked to win again this season, followed by a second-place tie between Baylor and Stanford.
Vanderbilt was selected 21st and is a potential opponent for the Tigers at the Vanderbilt Tournament on Nov. 28. Princeton's first opponent in the tournament, Southern California, is receiving votes along with Rutgers.
Princeton opens the season hosting Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m.
