PRINCETON (11/29/10) - The Princeton women's basketball team will complete a five-game road swing when it takes on undefeated Delaware on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., at the Carpenter Center.
The game will be webstreamed free of charge on Delaware's web site. Fans can also listen to Princeton's Derek Jones call all the action and follow live stats free of charge.
Princeton is 3-2 on the season and will be playing its third game in five days on Wednesday at Delaware. The Tigers went 1-1 at the Vanderbilt Tournament, defeating USC 60-59 and nearly knocking off No. 22/24 Vanderbilt 74-68. Three players are scoring in double figures led by sophomore Niveen Rasheed with 14.8 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounds with 7.4 boards per game, assists with 16 and steals with 11. Senior co-captain Addie Micir adds 13 points per game and is shooting 100 percent from the free-throw line and 40.5 percent from long range with 17 three's on the season. Sophomore Devona Allgood contributes 11.6 points per game and is second on the team in rebounds with 7.0 rebounds per game. She leads the team in blocks with eight and is second on the team in steals with eight. The Tigers are shooting 40.6 percent from the floor, 34.6 percent from behind the arc and 73.5 percent from the line. Princeton has a +10.4 scoring margin and a +2.8 rebounding margin over its opponents.Delaware leads the all-time series with Princeton 14-6. Princeton won last year's meeting a 68-59 game at Jadwin Gym. It was the first time the teams had met in eight years but ended a six-game Blue Hen winning streak in the series. Princeton has won just twice in Newark, Del., in 1994 and 1995.
Delaware is 5-0 on the season with its biggest win being a seven-point victory over Villanova on NOv. 16. The Blue Hens recently defeated La Salle, 59-48 on the road. Delaware averages 66.8 points per game and has a +13.4 scoring margin. They are shooting 41.9 percent from the floor, 43.6 percent from long range and 77.9 percent from the free-throw line. The team has a +17.0 rebounding margin over its opponents, pulling down 46.4 boards per game and holding teams to 29.4. Elena Delle Donne leads the team in scoring with a dominant 27.4 points per game. She adds 7.4 rebounds per game, has nine assists, eight blocks and three steals. Delle Donne has missed just two of her 32 free throws for a 93.8 percentage from the line. She has also hit 11 three's for a 61.1 percentage from long range. Danielle Parker and Sarah Acker both add 9.0 points per game apiece. Parker leads the team on the glass with 10.6 rebounds per game, while Acker has a team-high 10 blocks. Lauren Carra, who averges 8.2 points per game is the team's assist leader with 15. Jaquetta May has a team-best eight steals off the bench.
