Rasheed Wins Ivy League Player of the Week Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/6/10) - Niveen Rasheed of the Princeton women's basketball team was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the week ending December 5.
The sophomore led Princeton in scoring as the Tigers went 2-0 on the week and improve to 5-2 on the season. On Wednesday, Rasheed recorded a double-double against previously unbeaten Delaware. She scored 17 points and had a team-high 14 rebounds. She added four assists and three steals in the win. On Sunday, she scored a season-high 22 points in an 87-45 win over Rider. She shot 9-for-14 from the floor and hit all four of her free throws. She added two assists, one block and one steal. Rasheed did all of this in 20 minutes and was taken out of the game to allow her teammates time on the court.
Rasheed averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds during the week and now leads the league in scoring at 16.1 points per game.
Rasheed earns her second Player of the Week honor and the fourth in five weeks for Princeton.
