Women's Hoops Receives Votes in AP Poll; Takes 5th in Mid-Major Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. (2/1/10) - The Princeton women's basketball team is receiving four votes in the national poll and moved up in the Mid-Major poll it was announced on Monday, February 1.
The Tigers earned four votes in the AP Top 25 Poll and is seventh out of the 11 teams receiving votes behind No. 25 St. John's. Princeton picked up one vote in the January 18th poll.
Princeton leaped from No. 10 in the ESPN Mid-Major Poll to No. 5 this week. The Tigers sit behind No. 1 Xavier, No. 2 Gonzaga, No. 3 Green Bay and No. 4 Hartford. ESPN Blogger Graham Hays had this to say about the Tigers "The Ivy League is a low-major league, but the Tigers are treating it like a mid-major team should."
Princeton is 15-2 overall and 3-0 in the Ivy League after defeating Brown and Yale this weekend by an average of 26 points. The Tigers will host defending Ivy League Champion Dartmouth on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., after playing Harvard on Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.
