Bob Surace Discusses New Football Staff With GoPrincetonTigers.TV
February 26, 2010 | Football
Bob Surace '90, the new head coach of the Princeton football team, recently discussed his now-completed coaching staff with GoPrincetonTigers.TV.
His 2010 staff includes a pair of holdovers from the 2009 staff in Steve Verbit and E.J. Henderson; Verbit will serve as the associate head coach as well as continue to coach the defensive line, while Henderson will continue to work with the running backs.
On the offensive side, Surace has hired James Perry, the all-time passing leader in the Ivy League, to serve as offensive coordinator. Veteran Dennis Goldman, who was on the Princeton staff when the Tigers won the "Game of the Century" against Yale in 1981, will coach wide receivers, while Eddy Morrissey will work with the offensive line. Ryan Roeder has been brought in to work with tight ends.
The defense will be led by new coordinator Jared Backus, who comes over after a successful stint on the defensive staff at Temple. Joining Backus and Verbit will be Jim Salgado, the new defensive backfield coach, and Bill McCord, a defensive assistant.
