Women's Hoops Sweeps Ivy League Players of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. (2/8/10) - Junior Addie Micir and freshman Niveen Rasheed have been named the Ivy League Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week in women's basketball it was announced by the league office on Monday, Feb. 8.
This is Micir's second time being named Player of the Week and Rasheed's seventh honor as Rookie of the Week. This week she earned the honor along with Yale's Megan Vasquez.
Micir was on the court every minute this weekend as Princeton swept Harvard and Dartmouth to improve to 5-0 in the Ivy League. The only starting upperclassman Micir was key to keeping the squad composed as the Tigers found themselves trailing in the first half in both contests and battled back to win both games by 10+ points. Micir had a career night against Dartmouth, scoring a personal-best 25 points, accounting for 43 percent of the team's points. She went 8 for 18 from the floor setting a career-record for most attempts in a game and made three of her nine three-point attempts. She went 6 for 8 from the line, had two rebounds and one assist. The previous night against Harvard, Micir scored 16 points while adding six rebounds, three assists and one steal. Through the weekend, Micir shot 42.9 percent (15-35) and was 5 for 14 from behind the arc. She was 66.7 percent from the line (6-9) while adding eight rebounds, four assists and one steal to go along with her 41 points.Rasheed scored 20 points and pulled down 19 rebounds as Princeton swept Harvard and Dartmouth, marking one of the biggest weekends in recent history for the program. She nearly averaged a double-double with 10 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game while playing just 55 total minutes. She shot 42.1 percent from the floor and was 4 for 6 from the line. She led the team in assists with eight and added three steals. Rasheed picked up her fifth double-double of the season on Friday against Harvard, scoring 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. She had a game-high five assists and one steal. She was critical in holding the Crimson to 28.4 percent shooting and holding them to just 54 points. On Saturday against Dartmouth she scored five points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals as Princeton defeated the Big Green 58-47.
