New D.C. Jared Backus Talks Defense, Pair Of Steves With GPT.TV

On the eve of the spring practice season, new defensive coordinator Jared Backus talks about philosophies, early thoughts on returning players and a pair of Steves — Verbit and Cody — with GoPrincetonTigers.TV.
Backus has taken over the Princeton defense after a successful three-year run at Temple, where he helped bring the Owls into national prominence. Now he is looking to strengthen a Tiger defense that struggled for much of 2009, although it is one that also returns a number of talented pieces into the 2010 season.
