Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON -- Freshman Bernie D'Amato was the top Tiger as the Princeton men's golf team finished ninth at the Princeton Invitational hosted by Springdale Golf Club.
Sunday's final round finished with Yale and Harvard each at 22-over as a team, but the tiebreaker went to Yale on the final-round score of the team's fifth player. Yale's Carson Weinand posted a 74 Sunday, ahead of the 77 shot by Danny Mayer of Harvard. Yale also had the individual champion, as Tom McCarthy finished at 3-under ahead of second-place Brendan Kelly of Villanova, who finished at even par.
D'Amato was at +7 after three rounds to finish tied for 14th, while junior Eric Salazar was at +9 in a 19th-place tie, sophomore Patrick Wasserman finished at +14 in a 44th-place tie and senior Jake Skinner tied for 53rd at +16. Senior Greg Stamas was the fifth Tiger at +21, tying for 65th. Sophomore Evan Harmeling (T32nd, +65), sophomore Chase Lovett-Woodsum (T65th, +21) and senior Juan Pablo Candela (T68th, +22) played as individuals.
