Cerullo, Moss Earn Women's Squash All-Ivy Honors
April 21, 2010 | Women's Squash
Freshman Julie Cerullo and junior Jackie Moss earned 2010 All-Ivy League honors in women's squash after both recorded double-digit victories for Princeton this season.
Cerullo led Princeton with 15 victories during her first season in the program. While she had several wins against Ivy League programs, her biggest victory of the season came in a non-league match against No. 2 Trinity. Cerullo became the first collegiate player to defeat Trinity sophomore Nour Baghat; her 3-1 win over the 2009 national champion nearly led Princeton to an upset of the Bantams. Cerullo, who also earned first-team All-America honors, won the consolation draw of the Ramsay Cup championship.
Moss, a second-team All-America honoree, won 11 matches during the season and was one of only two Princeton players (joining senior Kaitlin Sennatt) to earn a perfect 6-0 record against Ivy League teams during the regular season. She was the highest-ranked player to earn a win at Harvard; she beat June Tiong 6, 8 and 10 at the No. 3 position in a 6-3 loss against the eventual national champion. Moss also had 3-2 wins against both Penn and Cornell and a 3-0 win in a tight 5-4 team victory over Yale.
