PRINCETON -- The Ivy League golf programs will converge on Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. for the league championship beginning Friday.
The event will last three rounds through Sunday with the men playing the Lower Course at a par-70 7,066 yards and the women on the Upper Course at a par-72 6,101 yards.
Baltusrol has hosted professional major championships for both men and women, including both American rotating-site men's majors. The men's U.S. Open has been played there seven times, most recently in 1993, while two U.S. Women's Opens, in 1961 and 1985, were played there. Baltusrol hosted the men's PGA Championship in 2005 and will do so again in 2016. Though Baltusrol is closed to the public, spectators are permitted for the event provided they adhere to the club's dress code.
Princeton's men have won 23 Ivy League titles, most recently in 2006, while the women have won four, most recently in 2005.
At last year's Ivy League tournament, held at Atlantic City Golf Club, the Princeton women placed third, just five shots behind champion Harvard and three shots back of runner-up Yale. Princeton's men placed fifth as Columbia won the title by a shot over Penn.
This spring, the Tiger men have played three tournaments with freshman Bernie D'Amato finishing as the top Princetonian in the last two after Eric Salazar finished first on the team in the first spring event in Virginia. The Tiger women have played five events and have had four players finish with top honors on the team, including Wonji Choi twice, Kate Scarpetta, Michelle Grilli and Anna Jang.
