No. 33 Women's Tennis Gets Third Ivy Win
April 03, 2010 | Women's Tennis
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The schedule continues to be difficult, but the 33rd-ranked Princeton women's tennis team met another challenge Saturday with a 5-2 win at No. 66 Brown.
The win gives Princeton its eighth victory in 11 tries against teams ranked in the ITA top 75 this season at the time of the match, and the Tigers will likely have two more opportunities next weekend when they host current No. 52 Harvard Friday and No. 47 Dartmouth Saturday.
Saturday's victory also puts the Tigers at 3-0 in the Ivy League for the first time since 2000. On its way to that milestone, Princeton swept the doubles point against the Bears and took four of six singles matches. Hilary Bartlett, Taylor Marable, Rachel Saiontz and Blakely Ashley were all winners on both the doubles and singles courts, while Monica Chow and Melissa Saiontz helped with doubles wins.
