Three Tigers on Softball All-Ivy Teams
May 14, 2010 | Softball
Seniors Jamie Lettire and Kelsey Quist received first-team All-Ivy League honors and freshman Sarah Rounsifer was an honorable mention.
It is the fourth All-Ivy honor for Lettire, who was on the first team in 2008 as the Ivy League Co-Player of the Year and the second team in 2007 and 2009. Lettire, elected as a utility player, split her time between first base and the pitching circle, hitting .357 in the 20 Ivy League games with a team-best six doubles. She was also Princeton's innings leader in the circle, throwing 65 of the team's 137 frames and compiling a 4-6 record.
Quist was a first-team All-Ivy in 2008 before receiving honorable mention in 2009. The outfielder posted a .339 average during the conference schedule and led the team with seven home runs and 17 runs batted in against Ivy foes. On the season as a whole, Quist led Princeton with 11 home runs, putting her career total of 37 as the second-highest in program history behind Lettire's 38, and had 34 RBIs to make rank her career total of 113 in sixth place all-time.
Rounsifer caught all 44 of Princeton's games and hit .322 in Ivy League play with a pair of home runs. Overall, Rounsifer was one of two Tigers along with Lettire to better a .300 average at the plate, hitting.303 with four home runs, the third-most on the season behind Lettire and Quist. Rounsifer is the first Princeton freshman since 2008 to earn a place on an All-Ivy League team.
