Princeton Track & Field Teams Earn All-Academic Status

NEW ORLEANS (8/3/10) - The Princeton men and women's track and field teams have been honored as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams it was announced by the organization on August 2 and 3.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award they must have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
The Princeton men are one of just 73 teams that earned the honor. The Tigers won the Indoor Heptagonal Championship in February knocking off two-time defending champ Cornell by 32 points. The team won 11 events with 19 members of the team earning 26 all-league honors. In the spring, Princeton took second at Heps winning seven events. Fifteen all-league certificates were given to 11 members of the team. Thirteen members of the team competed at the NCAA East Regional with four qualifying for the NCAA Championships and one earning double All-America honors.
The Princeton women also claimed victory at the Indoor Heptagonal Championship winning six events. Eleven members of the team earned 13 all-league honors. The squad finished fourth during the outdoor season and had 11 all-league honors, winning four events. Seven members of the team qualified and competed at the NCAA East Regional with three moving forward to the NCAA Championships with two of those three earning All-America honors in their respective events.
Five members of each team were named All-Academic by the same organization last week.
