September 12, 2010 | Men's Golf
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. -- Eric Salazar and Chase Lovett-Woodsum picked up victories in Princeton's tri-meet with Yale and Harvard Sunday at Sebonack Golf Club on eastern Long Island, but the Bulldogs took the team title.
Each team put forth five players in groups of three, with each group member playing a head-to-head match against the other two in his group. Salazar picked up a point with his 7-and-6 win over Harvard's Theodore Lederhausen, and Chase Lovett-Woodsum defeated Yale's Brandon Marick 1-up.
Yale won eight of the 15 matches, while Harvard picked up four victories to Princeton's two. Bernie D'Amato halved his match with Harvard's Mark Pollak, but half-points were not awarded.
The Tigers will have four more tournaments in the fall with the McLaughlin Invitational, hosted by St. John's on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y., up next weekend.
