September 17, 2010 | Men's Golf
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- With one round to play Saturday at the McLaughlin Invitational hosted by St. John's on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park, the Princeton men's golf team is atop the 15-school leaderboard by one shot.
It's a packed top of the leaderboard, with the Tigers leading Sacred Heart by a single stroke and Villanova and West Florida by three strokes.
Chase Lovett-Woodsum has paced the Tigers with scores of 69 and 65 through the first two rounds to stand at -6, and just as in the team standings, the junior's lead is by the slimmest of margins. Lovett-Woodsum leads Brendan Kelly of Villanova by one shot in the 81-player field. Two more Tigers are at or below par, with sophomore Bernie D'Amato turning in scores of 70 and 68 to stand at -2, and Evan Harmeling carding a 71 and 69 to stand at even par.
