Hale Named Southern Player of the Week

Princeton improved to 8-2 on the season with wins at Johns Hopkins, Navy and George Washington, with Hale providing major contribution in all three games. In the weekend opener at Hopkins, Hale scored two goals, added an assist and had a team-high seven steals. Later that night he scored two goals in Princeton's come-from-behind win at Navy and added three more steals. He completed the weekend with four assists and four steals in Princeton's win at George Washington on Sunday afternoon. For the weekend, Hale had four goals, five assists and 14 steals.
Hale's fellow captain, Mike Merlone was named to the league's honor roll following a three-win weekend in the Princeton goal. Merlone finished the weekend with 32 saves, and assist and seven steals in all three wins.
Hale is Princeton's second Player of the Week this season. Tim Wenzlau claimed the honor following Princeton's first weekend.
Hale, Merlone and the Tigers return to action this weekend at the SoCal Tournament, hosted at UCLA. Princeton will open the even against the host on Saturday morning.
