Pecotic Wins "A" Singles Title at Columbia

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Princeton junior Matija Pecotic closed out the Tigers' play in the Columbia Fall Classic Sunday with a win in the "A" singles final, defeating Milo Hauk of St. John's 6-3, 6-2.
Pecotic won four matches over the weekend to claim the title, defeating Dan Sauter of Fairfield in straight sets Friday before winning two more matches in tiebreak third sets over Columbia players Nate Gery and Haig Schneiderman.
Pecotic began the week in Tulsa, Okla., where he played two singles matches in the ITA All-America tournament before commencing his play in the Columbia event Friday. The Tigers will return to the court Thursday at the Cornell-hosted ITA Regional.
