Collegeinsider.com's list of the top 25 Mid-Major women's basketball assistants
Courtney Banghart's career record as head coach of the Princeton women's basketball team is 73-45.
During that same time, while assistant coach Melanie Moore's record is technically 0-0, it hardly means that she hasn't played a huge role in the resurgence of the Tigers women's program. And now Moore is getting recognized for what she's done.
Moore was ranked 12th on collegeinside.com's list of the top 25 Mid-Major women's basketball assistant coaches when the list was announced Wednesday.
Moore was the only Ivy League coach to make the list.
Moore's writeup from the story:
12. Melanie Moore - Princeton
After previous stints as an assistant at Dayton, Indiana State and Sienna College, Moore joined Princeton in 2007 and has since brought prolific success to the program. In addition to helping guide the Tigers to a 64-22 record over the last three seasons, she has helped the program capture two Ivy League championships and 2 NCAA Tournament appearances over the past two seasons.
Princeton is off to a 2-0 start on the young season and hosts Villanova (Saturday at 3) and Marist (Monday at 7) in its next two games. Villanova and Marist are receiving votes in this week's Top 25 poll.
Banghart, Moore and fellow assistant coach Milena Flores are now in their fifth season together. Under their direction, Princeton has gone from seven wins to 14 wins to a 52-8 record in the last two-plus seasons.
