Edwards Named Academic All-District

PRINCETON, N.J. (2/4/11) - Junior Lauren Edwards have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday, Feb. 4.
Edwards is a 2009-10 First-Team All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy selection. She scored a season-high 21 points at Wake Forest, shooting 4-for-9 from behind the arc en route to earning Ivy League Player of the Week honors. Last weekend she scored 15 of her team's 32 points in the second half in a win at Yale. Edwards pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds in a win over USC and had a career-best five assists and two blocks against Drexel. Her career-high of four steals has occured twice this season, against Rutgers and Penn. Edwards has scored in double digits in 11 of 17 games. She averages 11.7 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game and has 40 assists, 20 steals and 15 blocks this season. Edwards currently ranks second on the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. In the league she ranks fourth in field goal percentage, seventh in blocks, eighth in scoring and 13th in blocks.
