Baseball Team Serves as Barber for Charity Haircut
March 10, 2011 | Baseball
Princeton equipment manager Clifton Perry shaves his head each March to help support the fight against childhood cancer with the charity St. Baldrick's Foundation. Over the last four years, Perry has helped raise nearly $15,000 for the organization through the help of countless Princeton athletes and staff members. This year Perry put out a challenge that the team that could raise the most money would win the chance to give him his pre-shave haircut.
Anything could go for the cut, there just needed to be something there for the event, which will be held this Saturday, March 12 at Amalfi's in Lawrenceville. The winning team was the Princeton baseball team, which raised nearly $1,100. Princeton's Andrew Whitener and Matt Welsh acted as barbers on Tuesday afternoon in giving Perry his haircut.
