Tigercam: Practice Day Video Recap
Women's Basketball Blog
Day 1: We had our last practice at home before the NCAA Tournament today at noon. After practice we packed up and left Jadwin at 2 p.m., for Maryland. We had boxed lunches from Muscle Maker Grill, a new Princeton athletics sponsor, read our Georgetown scout and enjoyed the short trip down I-95. The ride took about four hours with some traffic in the D.C., area. The weather, like back in Princeton, is beautiful here, about 75 degrees - no jacket necessary. The hotel had a huge NCAA banner in the lobby and welcome signs on their plasma TVs. We got settled in and headed out to dinner in downtown Bethesda. It's 8:30 p.m., and we're back at the hotel. Most of us have papers to write so that's how we'll spend the rest of the night .... that and watching a little men's hoops.
Day 2: We woke up and had breakfast before leaving for our first practice of the day at 11 a.m., at the Comcast Center. We practiced in an auxillary gym in the facility that Maryland uses for home volleyball and wrestling matches. Our focus was on the Georgetown scout and preparing for the plays they run. We headed back to the hotel and had a team favorite for lunch CHIPOTLE. At 2:30 p.m., we watch game film of Georgetown and headed back to the Comcast Center for practice on the game floor. First up, Coach Banghart and senior captains Krystal Hill and Addie Micir went to a press conference to discuss our team and our season. If we had to compare the arena to one that we've played in this year, it'sm most comparable to Wake Forest's arena, which isn't surprising since they are both ACC schools. And it's interesting to point out that both years in the NCAA Tournament for us we've played BIG EAST teams on an ACC floor. Following practice we got dolled up and had our team banquet which a lot of our families attended. It was good to reflect on the season and show us all the hard work we put in this year. Coach Flores did a great highlight film, Coach Moore sent a note from home and the freshman did an awesome job with a parody video. Now it's time to relax and get ourselves mentally prepared for the game tomorrow.
