PRINCETON (3/7/11) - The Princeton women's basketball team wraps up the regular season when it travels to play travel partner Penn on Tuesday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Princeton clinched the Ivy League and its automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament last weekend with a 68-59 win over Harvard. The Tigers are 23-4 overall and 12-1 in the league and sporting a nine-game winning streak. Princeton averages 69.6 points per game and holds team's to 52.2 for a league best +17.4 scoring margin. The Tigers shoot 44.5 percent from the floor, 41.9 from behind the arc and 69.8 from the free-throw line. Three players are in double digits in scoring led by senior Addie Micir. Micir scores 12.4 points per game as the team's best three-point and free-throw shooter. She has a league-best 73 made three's and shoots 80 percent from the line. Micir has a team-high 85 assists and is second on the team in steals with 34. Juniors Devona Allgood and Lauren Edwards add 11.9 and 11.8 points per game and are the team's top rebounders with 6.9 and 4.9 boards per game. Allgood, the current Ivy League Player of the Week, also leads the team in blocks with 39 and had six against Harvard on Saturday. Sophomore Lauren Polansky has a team-high 50 steals and 77 assists, while scoring 2.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Princeton has a 46-23 edge over travel partner Penn in the all-time series, dating back to 1974. The Tigers won a 56-45 game in the first game of the year at Jadwin Gym in January. The Tigers have swept the Quakers the last two seasons. Princeton has a slim margin, 18-13, when playing at The Palestra. Penn's last win was in the 2008 season finale 85-78.
Penn is 11-16 overall and 5-8 in the Ivy League to sit in sixth place. The Quakers are 7-6 when playing at home this season and split its last home weekend, falling to Harvard 56-48 after leading most of the game, took down Dartmouth 60-49. Penn boasts the second-best scoring defense in the league, behind Princeton, limiting teams to 54 points per game, while scoring 54.7 points themselves. The Quakers shoot 36.1 percent from the field, 30.5 percent from long range and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line. They also ranked second in the league in rebounding margin with a +2.7 differential. Freshman Alyssa Baron, who earned her seventh Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor this Monday, is the team's leading scorer, averaging 16.7 points per game. She also leads the team in three's made with 39 and has the best free-throw percentage on the team at 68.6. Jess Knapp and Brianna Bradford are the next two on the scoring column with 8.3 and 6.2 points per game. Knapp leads the team in rebounds with 6.7 per game and in blocks with 37. Starters Meghan McCullough and Erin Powers have 50+ steals and 60+ assists apiece.
