Princeton's men's golf team will head for Galloway, N.J. to compete in the Ivy League Championship Friday through Sunday at Galloway National Golf Club in search of the program's 24th Ivy League title and first since 2006.
Since the Tigers last won, Penn was the 2007 champion and Columbia won the three following, putting the Lions' seniors in pursuit of a four-peat not completed since Princeton won four straight from 1992-95.
Princeton's scoring five was the same for the four fall tournaments but has included the team's two freshmen in the two spring tournaments. Senior Eric Salazar, who was the team's top finisher last weekend at the Century Intercollegiate, juniors Evan Harmeling and Patrick Wasserman, sophomore Bernie D'Amato and freshmen Greg Jarmas and Taylor Peck have all figured into the team's top five between the two spring events so far.
The Tigers have finished ahead of other Ivy programs in 16 of 24 chances in stroke-play events this season, including finishing in front of each of the other seven schools at least once between the five tournaments in which Princeton has played that included other Ivies.
The Ivy League has announced a 7:30 a.m. start Friday and Sunday and an 11:30 a.m. start Saturday for the meet's single round each day.
