Men's Golf Places Fifth at Ivy League Championship
April 24, 2011 | Men's Golf
NORTHFIELD, N.J. -- Senior Eric Salazar placed 14th to lead the Princeton men's golf team in its final tournament of the season as the Tigers placed fifth at the Ivy League Championship.
Yale won the tournament at +56 by 20 shots over Columbia, which was looking for the first run of four straight Ivy League championships since Princeton accomplished the feat from 1992-95. Dartmouth's Peter Williamson, at +10, edged Yale's Tom McCarthy by one shot to win medalist honors. The Galloway National Golf Club course was a tough one for the Ivy competitors, as Williamson, with a first-round 69, and McCarthy, with a final-round 70, were the only players with a red-number round.
