Baseball Hosts Rider on Wednesday; Adds Game on May 3 at Delaware

Princeton moved into a four-game lead atop the Gehrig Division standings with four games remaining in the Ivy League regular season as it went 3-1 in four games against Columbia. It was the second weekend in a row in which the Tigers lost the opening game of the series but bounced back to take the final three games of he series.
Princeton's wins moved the Tigers to 18-18 overall this season which is the first time all year that the Tigers have been at .500. Princeton is also now 12-4 with the best the record in the Ivy League. Princeton holds a two-game lead in the race for home field in the Ivy League Championship series over Rolfe Division leaders Dartmouth and Yale.
Princeton trails Rider in the all-time series between the local rivals. Rider is 24-22 in the 46 games played between the teams while Princeton holds a 13-9 lead in games played at Clarke Field. Princeton and Rider have alternated wins and losses over the past five seasons with Princeton earning a 12-10 win in 11 innings last season. Princeton freshman lefty Michael Fagan will get the start for the Tigers.
Rider is currently 22-14 overall and 10-5 in the MAAC. Rider was the 2010 MAAC Champion and is currently in second place in the 2011 standings behind Manhattan. Rider wrapped up a three-game series with Fairfield on Tuesday with a 6-3 win to go 1-2 in the series. Seton Hall is the only common opponent between Princeton and Rider. Princeton topped the Pirates 2-1 while Rider fell to the Pirates 4-3.
Princeton has also added a midweek game for Tuesday, May 3 at Delaware. The game replaces Princeton's scheduled game with St. John's that was rained out on April 19.
