Men's Golf to Open Fall with Harvard, Yale Tri-Match
September 10, 2011 | Men's Golf
For the second straight year, the Princeton men's golf team will open its fall season at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. for a tri-match Sunday against Harvard and Yale.
The match is the first of six fall events for the Tigers, who will play in four tournaments between Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, as well as another tri-match against Army and Georgia, before the fall season wraps in mid-October.
Five players from each of the three schools will take part in the event, each competing in a match play event against one player from the two other schools. Each match play event will award one point to the winning player's team. In last season's event, Yale picked up eight points to four for Harvard and two for the Tigers with one more match halved.
Following the tournament, Princeton will play again on Long Island in the McLaughlin Invitational, hosted by St. John's on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park.
