All-Time Series: Princeton leads 15-14-1
Streak: Princeton 1 overall, Dartmouth 1 at Dartmouth
After opening the Ivy League season last Saturday on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium against Yale, the Princeton women's soccer team will play this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dartmouth's Burnham Field.
Both teams dropped their Ivy openers, with Dartmouth losing to Brown 1-0 in overtime last Sunday.
The last five games in the Dartmouth-Princeton series have been decided by one goal, and Princeton junior Caitlin Blosser has scored the Tigers' last three goals in the series. The first of those came in 2009 at Dartmouth in the 14th minute before the Big Green scored later in the first half and again in the second overtime to win 2-1. Last year, Blosser scored in the 18th and 58th minutes to give Princeton a 2-1 win at Roberts Stadium.
Blosser is among Princeton's points leaders again this season, her two goals co-leading the team and her four points standing as the second-most on the club. Junior Jen Hoy's two goals and two assists for six points are still the team best, and freshmen Lauren Lazo and Liana Cornacchio and senior Sara Chehrehsa have chipped in one goal apiece. For Dartmouth, freshman Tasha Wilkins has two of the team's four goals on the season.
Both Princeton and Dartmouth have employed a pair of goalkeepers this season. The Big Green's rookie Tatiana Saunders has played three-quarters of the possible minutes, accruing a 1.59 GAA. Junior Claire Pinciaro has played better than 80 percent of the minutes for Princeton and has a 2.05 GAA.
The Dartmouth game will be the first of back-to-back Ivy League road games for the Tigers, who will head to Brown next weekend before returning home for the first of two non-league games. Following an Oct. 10 game against Francis Marion, the Tigers will head to Lehigh Oct. 12 before hosting Columbia on Oct. 15 in a return to Ivy play.
