Rasheed Earns Fourth Ivy League Player of the Week Honor

Ivy League Player of the Week Release
Princeton women's basketball junior forward Niveen Rasheed earned her fourth Ivy League Player of the Week honor of the 2011-12 campaign after helping guide the Tigers to their sixth consecutive victory this past weekend.
Rasheed amassed 31 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists and three steals, in addition to going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in 47 combined minutes of work versus rivals Cornell and Columbia.
Princeton (13-4 overall, 3-0 Ivy League) dealt the Big Red a 64-36 loss on Jan. 13, and followed it up with a season-high scoring effort in their 94-35 victory over the Lions two days later.
Rasheed, who has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week seven times over her career, is averaging a team-best 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. She's also tallied 52 assists and 37 steals in 17 starts.
The Tigers currently have a break in play for first semester final exams, before returning to action versus Brown on Feb. 3 and Yale on Feb. 4 at home.
